    How could anyone give this a down vote? If you don't like classical music, go listen to your rap (or whatever), but don't try to judge great music. Phillistine. Or do you even know what a Phillistine is?

    How many solos are there in Swan Lake?

    • @VetsrisAuguste
      @VetsrisAuguste 4 роки тому

      That’s not an easy question to answer since the solo violin is heavily featured throughout the score, the complete unabridged version of which is almost never performed in its entirety. In fact, for decades in the 20th Century, this particular selection was typically omitted from stage productions of the ballet. After it’s original performance run in the 1880’s the score for Swan Lake was significantly revised. Many sections from the original arrangement were swapped out with other selections written by Tchaikovsky for other works while some sections were edited out entirely. Some of the most well known music from Swan Lake, like the infamous Black Swan Variation (another violin solo) and it’s even more famous coda are not originally from Swan Lake and were added later. Even the White Swan Pas de Deux, which is a violin/cello duet that marks the climax of Act II, is a transposition of a soprano/tenor vocal duet from Tchaikovsky’s opera the Queen of Spades. It is this revised version of Swan Lake that is most familiar to audiences and performers alike. Regardless of which version, the complete original score which is rarely performed, or the more familiar revised version which is often not performed in its entirety , all versions of the score for Swan Lake use a lot of solo violin.

    Wow, the lead violinist's body language and facial expressions really communicate the emotion of the music in a way that seems to add to what is undoubtedly one of Tchaikovsky's underappreciated pieces. Even the rest of the orchestra seems enchanted! Goes to show that the end product is always better when one is passionate about their trade.

    this is so beautiful. I heard it once somewhere this same exact piece by the same person. I kept searching for "Russian dance" but none of them had this emotion. I was almost giving up, this one was my last attempt. There's really something about this particular piece it tells a story so vividly. I imagine a beautiful young Russian ballet dancer who really wanted to dance but never was allowed to. Instead she was married off to a mean Russian guy who further kept her at home like a housewife. One day she sees a lovely woman dancing and decides to fight all odds and go for it. The last upbeat part is her dancing with full gusto. I can imagine her twirling round and round like ballet dancers do I can SEE that image in my head every single time I hear this. Beautiful. Incredibly beautiful

    Brahms is a challenge to interpret well, and this is superb. The line of their playing creates a beautiful architecture, along with their passion and pulling out the rich colors and the balances in Brahms' voicings all beautifully in place. Splendid music making--congrats as well to David on your appointment to the ASO!
